My money-league results... opinions?
by: Rob Reed | March 29, 2010, 10:15am

I ended up keeping Chase Utley ($30), Andre Ethier ($8), Cliff Lee ($18), and Adrian Gonzalez ($15).

Here is my final roster from yesterday, and the prices (10 team multi, 5x5 - except OBP instead of R - $260 salary cap - 3 IF, 3 OF, 1 C, 4 P in serpentine farm draft at the end).

For the first time in the 15 or so years that I have been playing in this league, I saved a ton of dough. $27. I'm not sure whether to rejoice or cry on this one... The reason: I got amazing... [read more]

Time for you to help me!

Money league... Pitching is standard 5 (ERA, WHIP, K, SV, W), but hitting is one category different of std 5x5 (OBP instead of R).

These are my potential keepers... can only keep 4, $260 salary cap for 8 pitchers and 14 position players (UT, CI, MI, Cx2, OFx5):

Roy Halladay $30
CC Sabathia $28
Cliff Lee $18
Chase Utley $30
Adrian Gonzalez $15
Andre Ethier $8

I've been hemming and hawing with a hoard on stud pitchers strategy by keeping all three pitchers, but that is a LOT of dough to spend on starters...

I've thought Halladay, Lee, AGonz, and Ethier. $71

The latest is to only keep Lee... and... [read more]

The Final Bloomberg Squad
by: Rob Reed | March 15, 2010, 8:21pm

The Bloomberg "Experts vs. Regulars" draft is complete... it took just about four hours. The experts field is comprised of Ron Shandler, Lawr Michaels, Tim Heaney, Steve Gardner, Harold Reynolds, and Derek Van Riper...

All in all, I think I did very well... the coolest tool that I found helpful with the Bloomberg fantasy tools was the ability to see who was in a contract year on the fly... that was very helpful in making final decisions.

Here is my final roster. Of course, I used PlayerTrack and its nix tools to keep clarity, but Bloomberg's set of tools are very... [read more]
