NL-only draft almost in the books
by: Rob Reed | March 19, 2009, 12:10am

Man, I forgot how hard single league play was... I haven't played in a single league fantasy game for a good 8 or 9 years. And, I rediscovered a very important thing.

Don't overspend early. Leave the crazy bidders alone. Perhaps, get one of the stud players and then sit, sit, sit!

Because this was my first real draft of the season, I got a bit overly excited, and I declared to my baseballgeeks podcast partner, Gregg, just before the draft that I was going to aim for not one, but two of the triple threat of Hanley Ramirez, Jose... [read more]

More nix tool fun...
by: Rob Reed | March 15, 2009, 5:30pm

Thanks to PLAYERtrack user Perm for the excellent suggestion, today, of a "batch" nix function, where you can delete more than one player at a time.

This is IDEAL for online drafts because they go by so quickly... so obvious a necessary use of the nix tool that I don't know why I didn't think of it before, so many props to perm!

It should now be functional on the hitters and pitchers ranking pages.

As always, if you encounter a problem, let me know!

Nix tool is now more effective...
by: Rob Reed | March 13, 2009, 11:12pm

I have corrected the nix tool function and basic searches so that your last ranking settings are saved in your personal profile. If this doesn't make sense to you, then odds are you haven't used the nix tool yet in a draft.

What happened is that when you removed a drafted player from the rankings after he was drafted, your ranking settings were reset, forcing you to redo the search that you were on when you nixed the player.

No more!

This has not yet been added when you nix pitchers, but I will add this tomorrow...

Now, I *REALLY* can't wait for my... [read more]

More categories added today...
by: Rob Reed | March 12, 2009, 3:53pm

I added hitter walks (BB) to the hitting rank categories and to the pitching, the categories of innings pitched (IP) and earned runs (ER) have been added.

Thanks to PLAYERtrack podcast listener, Everett, for the suggestion!

Latest updates and podcast news...
by: Rob Reed | March 10, 2009, 8:14am

I am having a nasty bout with bronchitis thanks to my favorite human petri dish who lives at home with me (my 2-year old son), so I have not gotten a closer podcast out. I will try and get a closer podcast done very soon...

But, in better news, thank you to PLAYERtrack user Robert for the recommendation of adding LOSSES in the pitching rankings for his fantasy league.

While I think this is a category that is very difficult to predict, other than looking at the team that a pitcher players -- you can see how spurious that is when you... [read more]
