2010 forecast
Missed most of June due to injury. One of my strongest supports for the value of the PLAYERtrack system because his success was predicted.

Still, regression in batting average is high likelihood. BUT, he turns 27 near the end of the 2010 season, so we certainly have not seen his best yet.

I still like Votto as a #1 1B, but the lack of a track record makes him a relatively risky bet. He is definitely one that I will be targeting.

The player profile graph predicts Votto's success
Just glancing at Votto here and the stat graph on his player profile.

His RAW stat success last season was almost spot-on to his proration ranking in 2007. Pretty cool...

Surely...
"The Lizard" is smart enough to realize that this is the future at 1st base & will ride Votto as far as Votto will take him. But, Baker is the same guy that allegedly ruined Prior & Wood, so brains may be something that Baker is short on.

2 HRs in 3 games
...and he had a 5 RBI game today. Can Dusty sit him over Hatteberg?

Only if he is smoking the wacky weed.

Still high on Votto
Not for the short-term, but yes, for the long term through the season. I think he will replace Hatteberg by June after tearing up AAA ball.

Hey Rob...
Are you still as high on Votto as you were three weeks ago? Spring training has not gone well at all for this young lad. At last glance, he was hitting .193

I guess he is still worth drafting & stashing in case the spring was just an aberration? The problem is Dusty Baker. Will he wait for him to come around or send him to the minors for a few more ABs?

Thoughts?

5-Star Player in the making
It *MIGHT* be too early for this kid. But, I definitely think he is worth a gamble... I am crossing my fingers that Dusty Baker feels the same because I have drafted him in my "experts" league.

He has 2 SBs in the spring already... he is solid in all 5 categories, and I suspect he will have an immediate fantasy impact.
