absolutely agree
I think I might even take him first in the latter half of the first round, as my second pick rolls around... make sure to get very solid power/average with your next pick, and you have a solid 1-2.

honestly, I think I'd just avoid Hanley this year. personally, I haven't drafted him in 3 years anyway, but who knows how he'll take to third base, or if the frustration of learning a new position will carry over to the plate.

when to draft?
When would be the earliest you would consider drafting Ramirez? BJ Upton had a similar shoulder surgery recently and bounced back fine. Ramirez says he feels 100%. I also think Ramirez will be motivated and seems excited to play for the new Miami Marlins and Ozzie Guillen. I think a .300 20/20 season with good counting stats is reasonable. With SS so shallow, some experts suggest taking him in the second half of the 1st round or early second at the latest. Do you agree?

hanley regresses, but he is still #1 ss
A great hitter, but not this good. No doubt, the best fantasy shortstop in the game, so that's the plus... and that's why he remains a first round option.

Regression in SBs and power is the concern, and he only has one place to go (down), but it won't be that far down... I paid $50 for him in an NL only league last year and he carried my lowly team.

Don't think I would shell out that much next year.

Still top of the heap...
He had a 10 point dropoff in overall ranking, but he remains the #1 SS option in the Major Leagues. He may not be a .330+ hitter, but he is definitely a .300 hitter.

Quality all the way around at a tough position to fill.

Once again, a definite first rounder... a definite top 5 pick.

LOOKOUT!
He's coming! He may suffer a sophmore slump in his second season as a full time starter, but don't expect his numbers to drop that much. .280 BA, 45 SB, 15 to 20 HRs, 110 runs, .350 OBP is well within his reach.
