Established himself, finally, as a first round fantasy pick, which makes this Dodger fan pleased as punch.
He is a hitter's hitter with a perennially high BABIP and low contact rate (he appears to be a lucky hitter, but his track record proves strongly that he is all skill). He knows how to hit. He didn't regress when Manny was out of the lineup. He is a hitting machine all on his own.
He cut his strikeouts in the same number of ABs from 2008 (606 ABs). Nothing not to like.

Now, you can figure it out... |
Maki:
I have always been meaning to add these categories (and a few more like singles, doubles, and triples) to the mix, and you have given me the incentive to do it.
Using your categories, under raw stats from last season, Matt Kemp's AND Alfonso Soriano's value -- believe it or not -- drop substantially. In fact, they are both the 31st and 32nd outfielders in all of fantasy baseball last year under these categories!
Check out the new categories that should help you in this league immensely.
Personally, I still like Kemp for improvement... Soriano, not so much, but it would be hard for me to pass him up in any league.

Rob,
If we keep 4, we enter a mini-draft with the other teams who kept 4, until every team has 5 on the roster. Once that happens, the "draft proper" begins.
We are a weekly H2H league, with 11 categories on each side:
H, R, K, TB, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP, SLG, OPS
IP, W, L, SV, HLD, K, BB, ERA, WHIP, K/9, K/BB
Thanks again!

How do the keepers work? First base is VERY deep, so you can afford to let Morneau go... definitely keep Mauer.
Kemp is a reasonable bet for 20 HR and 40 SB... he has shown a very decent hitting skill set, I think, where a .340+ BABIP is not out of the question (meaning: he should also hit .280+).
In mock drafts, he is currently a third rounder (I just drafted him in the 3rd round of an "expert league" mock draft the other day). The tough part for me is to be completely unbiased, as a Dodger fan.
A key for Kemp AND Ethier is going to be the presence of Manny in the lineup, so if you keep Kemp (and I would), I would hope that the Dodgers get their act together already.

10 team league, weekly match-up league, 4 keepers mandatory, option for a 5th. Keeping Halladay, Morneau, Mauer and Soriano. Kemp is an option for keeper #5. Thoughts? perhpas drop Mauer and keep Kemp instead?
