extremely impressive
Peripherals indicate no regression for this top 10 pitcher thus far... in fact, they indicate PROGRESSION (2.58 FIP, below average strand rate). Looks like he is reaching the status of elite at the tender age of 27.

i'll just say...
that I have Cole in a number of leagues and he is up for me... but it is a weekly league, and as it is the first week, I was ready to take a gamble.

But, gamble it is...

He is likely your ace, so my initial opinion without thinking about it is that you have to have him in...

Then again, when I start to think about it, he might be on a short leash coming off the arm problems... he did pitch a few days ago, strinking out seven... but he gave up 2 HRs in the first.

Ah, hell. I go with him.

start or sit this week/
I am trying to decide whether to start Hamels this week at Colorado. This league has an innings max limit of 1600 which is easy to fill during the season. I am just not convinced Hamels will go deep into the ballgame to get a QS (one of our pitching stats), his pitch count is not where it will be later and his arm strength is still not there due to pitching few innings this spring (topping out in the mid to high 80's). I also worry about the start being in Coors. What do you think?

FIP indicates regression
I'm not sold on the FIP stat just yet, but Hamels' FIP and ERA comparisons mirror Fausto Carmona's 2007 season. Is this a bad omen for Cole?
