Tearing it up...
Rule of 27 year. Slightly high BABIP just means he should be hitting around .300, but all systems are a go!

Ended up keeping him
Couldn't resist keeping hI'm as a 15th rounder in my keeper league. I know some of the Orioles' additions are older players, but I have a feeling the with Showalter he will take off this year. Hit over .300 with Buck at the helm and of course the team played much better (record over .500 or .600). In addition, Jones also said on ESPN's Fantasy Focus that he intends to use his speed more by attempting more steals. Could see .290 with 20-25 HRs and maybe 15SBs.

hmmm...
Vlad is 36. Derrek Lee turns 36 this year and is coming off one of his worst seasons ever. Mark Reynolds is an amazing strikeout artist. Markakis and Jones are both great #3-#4 OFs, and I think they'll be about the same next year.

Don't get too excited about that 5 HR game yesterday.

Orioles lineup
With the offseason moves by orioles' managent, I think that some of the younger players could benefit. Do you think that lineup could be good this year? I think Adam Jones could have a better season along with Markakis. Any thoughts?

tore it up for the first few months...
People were raving about Adam in the first months of the season. As of May 31st, his BABIP was .388 and he was the #4 hitter in all of baseball.

Alas, time heals all aberrations (usually), and Adam's BABIP fell to a near league average by season's end, but he still ended up in the top 50 among all offensive players in the MLB, fantasy-wise in 2009.

Injury shortened his season, but he should have a nice bounceback... and, there's room for upside(contact rate went up as did most of his other offensive categories). It will be interesting to see if he develops into a first half stud who tails off over the course of his career.

He is only 24 years old.
