Message #7 by Rob Reed @ March 3, 2011, 07:11am good bet I feel the same about Ryan as I did last year before the Tigers signed Damon... given a full season, 20 HR and 80 RBI is entirely within reach. And, that's a great 28th rounder. With the list you have given, personally, I would prefer to lockup the pitching potential of Volquez. He's three years younger than Ryan, and his 2008 makes his potential - in my opinion - much more interesting than Ryan's. Ryan's success depends in large part on the success of those in his lineup... and there's age in that lineup (Guillen, Maggs), guys who seem to be past peak (Inge, Peralta), and then there's Austin Jackson who is more likely to stink this year. I'm not saying I wouldn't take Ryan - especially in the 28th - I'm only saying that you have a much more interesting option... and I bet you could draft Ryan in the 27th.

Message #6 by Brian Ramos @ March 3, 2011, 04:38am Breakout? Unfortunately in my keeper league he missed qualifying at 2B by 2 games. Is he worth keeping at a 28th (final) round cost. Do you think of him as a possible breakout player like others in the fantasy arena? My last keeper is between him and the following players all at 28th round price (could all, including Raburn, be kept for 3 yrs): 1) Edison Volquez 2) Colby Lewis 3) Brett Myers 4) Andres Torres 5) Aubry Huff SP is plentiful so I would be inclined to go with a hitter. My other SP keepers currently are Cliff Lee and Mat Latos at superb value.

He is back on my sleeper list... but very deep leagues... and as a last second flyer. If someone wants to get him early, let them.

MLB Tiger depth chart currently has him starting in left field. The low contact rate presents the possibility of a .270ish average, but there is so much to like from these stats... and, as a fifth OF gamble, he is a GREAT pick in my humble opinion.
