rule of 27
The kid has over 1400 ABs under his belt now and this is is rule of 27 year. I'm not convinced he can improve much in average, but .270 isn't impossible. I do think that we can see 20-20 out of this kid this year, which - given that he should go in latter rounds for cheap - gets you plenty of bang for the buck.

a masher, indeed... BUT?
The kid is a masher, but a 75% contact rate and a .367 BABIP with his .301 BA in AAA this season don't get me that excited.

I suspect he'll be the victim of Ryan Howard, hit a HR every AB syndrome, for the first few weeks... which will mean 3-5 HRs, a low BA, and a ton of Ks...

I would love to be wrong.

activate
According to Yahoo Headley will be activated Tuesday 6/17. Assuming that Giles and Giles' replacement McAnulty are hurt and going to miss time, Headley will see extended playing time. He batted .305 in Triple A with decent numbers. I know there is some hype that he will be able to produce at some level in the bigs, but how much will he produce? Is he worth a gamble when guys like Crede and Mark DeRosa are having career years? Is anyone out there going to buy into the hype?
