no reason for me to downgrade
still looks like a solid pick with multi-position eligibility at 1B and OF. The bad news is that he won't be going in the 25th round like in 2010, so no value pick here.

he has proven me correct
I got Aubrey at around pick #235 in an actual draft this year. His overall hitters ranking (distance from the mean) is TWELVE as of 8/4/10.

I think that is what you call IMMENSE value.

definitely forgotten
I got him as my last pick in a 10-team, 25 round mock draft...

may be a forgotten man in your league
It isn't as if he is moving to a juggernaut squad in San Fran, but his .263 BABIP last season (a walk year) must be taken note of, coupled with a solidly consistent 83% contact rate.

He loses 3B eligibility at the start, but I suspect he might get it back if Pablo Sandoval gets a few days off and Ishikawa gets some playing time - definite possibility after interleague play.

Bottom line is that a .280 average, 20+ HRs and near 90 RBI should be in the offing for Aubrey. This is much better than last year, and this makes him a decent sleeper if you are in need of a 1/3 and the pickings are slim.

Walk year...
he had an AMAZING season last year, so the question everyone's lips is whether he can repeat. Well, Aubrey has every economic incentive in the world.

As long as he doesn't get a contract extension in the next few weeks, I love his chances at a repeat. Add in multi-position eligibility, and he is a wonderful fantasy option who is not getting superior player respect probably because of his '06 and '07 and the team he plays for.

It's this kind of player who I believe you can make your #1 1B, leaving you with more money to spend on solid pitching.
