incredibly low BABIP
through 5/31 means you will end up getting all that you expecfted of him... more like .270ish avg when all is said and done...

I'm sure his flyball rate to HR was freaky, so don't expect 40 HRs. 30, a definite possibility.

Konerko
So what is the story with him this year?? Last few weeks homers aren't coming but the RBI and Avg are still there. I need to get another bat for my Keeper league. I can get him and maybe Bourbon for Lesterand another piece. or I could get Hunter for Baker. Lester I can keep for 1 more year Baker isnt keeper eligable.

i jinxed him...
I give him elite status in 2007 and he starts to tank... decent power numbers and an average contact rate, but he has a notoriously bad BABIP, so he isn't much of a scrappy hitter.

He has to hit the long ball to be worth anything, so - as he is still capable of hitting 30 - as long as he is healthy, he is draftable.

I would not at all be surprised if he posts numbers similar to his 2006 as this is his walk year.

You must monitor the preseason from here on out... as long as Konerko is in Chicago, he could be great. Rumors in November had him in a three-team deal that would have likely sent him to San Diego as a 1B (in which case, I'd want to avoid him). Paul is owed $12 million this year in his final year of the contract, so the Chisox will probably look to shop him at some point this year.

A possibility exists that the Angels might want to snag him to place at their DH spot (which would be a good thing for fantasy purposes), but this is hard to fathom because Juan Rivera can fit that spot for a lot less money, with more upside.

Guy to watch
I think we can now safely say that he is elite status... he has improved in each of the last three seasons, fantasy-wise, and I think it will continue this year.
