simple fact
is that Albert posted his lowest BABIP since 2006... and he still was the best offensive fantasy player in the Majors. So, this means Albert can only be MORE valuable with a .320+ average, which is highly like in 2010.

Yee-ikes.

And, he is only just 30.

stolen bases?
I just heard a podcast that said that Albert wasn't much of a stolen base option for 1B. Well, of 21 1B with 500 min ABs, he is tied for 4th in stolen bases with his 7.

So, while among ALL players Albert isn't a great SB option, he is close to as good as it gets for the position. And, considering 16 SB 4 years ago, I'm not ruling out a 10 SB season, which would have put him at #2 in the SB category for SBs in 2008.

Fall to 12th Spot?
Absolutely. His spring tells the tale. Eventually, the elbow is going to finish most of a season for him.

I don't think it is this year.

I heard it said, and it is true, that this has been bothering him for 4+ years... you wouldn't know it from his stats since 2003. And, you certainly wouldn't know it if the rumor mill wasn't churning and the only news we had on Pujols right now was his spring stats.

Certainly, it will make or break you... but, think about it. If Pujols stays healthy for most of the season (some 510+ ABs), he will carry your team on his back.

What If...
I am in a 5X5, 12 team Roto league. I am drafting in the 12 spot. If this beast falls to me, should I draft him? He has been absolutely killing the ball this spring & I can't make up my mind as whether to draft him or let him be someone else's problem. He has said that if the pain in that elbow is as great as it was in 2008 as it was in 2007, he will shut it down & opt for the surgery.

I am leaning on letting him go & drafting the likes of Fielder, Ortiz, Crawford, etc.

Decisions, decisions.
