now at 35 years old...
he is no longer a youngster and may be seeing the effects of age... still, he is a great option at 3B whose value was kileld by his AVG (which can be explained by bad luck via BABIP).

.290+ avg should be back this next season, as will his top 15 finish in the rankings, I believe.

still the best
even without steroids, Arod is a stud... a shortened season due to hip surgery at the start last season meant that his power numbers would have been better than 2008 (and closer to 2007) given a full season...

40-125-20 and a return to .290+ in average is an easy prediction for 2010.

Now, a big question mark...
Does all of the off season stuff (especially the recent steroid revelation) knock down his fantasy value? It does for me... not MUCH, but I would expect some.

He thrives on a good reputation (except for postseason play)... I wonder if all of this stuff gets into his head -- especially when fans of the opposition start "Barry Bonds'ing" him with the roid stuff.

I'll still pay $45 for him... but nothing more.

Then again, he hasn't hit less than 35 HRs in a season since the positive steroid test in 2003. Maybe I just changed my mind.

world series?
Who cares, as far as fantasy baseball is concerned?

This guy is just amazing.

Arod is up right here...

Foot in mouth...
This year, in my serpentine fantasy draft, Arod went first, and I was scratching my head, based upon his PlayerTrack ranking.

Sure, the guy was great. But Vlad was out there. Abreu was out there.

I expected Arod as a first round pick, but not to go so fast...

Well, my foot is in my mouth. Nice 2005, Arod!
