folks are gonna be down on him
but he had a low BABIP and should perform closer to 2009 levels, which makes him an absolute stud...

Message #3 by Rob Reed @ July 13, 2010, 08:29am
.263 babip is lowest ever
by 30 or so points (2004's .295 is his career lowest)... so, all systems go for .280+ avg, and great stats across the board.. he has reached base safely the last 30 games, and things will only get better... slugging percentage is also more than 100 points less than his average slg the previous three years

Abberration year?
Teixiera had a horrible first half in 2006. The second half is a better indicator of his skills, and I think he will be a top 1B fantasy option for years to come.

Might not be realized...
but Teixeira broke the 109 year old record for most RBIs for a switch hitter last year.

The RBIs were the most for a switch-hitter, breaking the record of 136 by George Davis for the New York Giants in 1896.

This guy is going to be one helluva fantasy guy for a number of years to come.
