every other year + rule of 27
This is Prince's rule of 27 year. A definite plus.

In 2007, he hit 50 HRs. Then dropped 16 HRs to 34 the next year only to follow up with 46 in 2009. Last year, he dropped down 14 HRs and hit "only" 32.

I'd say 42+ HRs is again on the agenda and a return to .270s+ in the average department. I suspect he'll be a top 5 1B in 2011, easily.

It could have been written THIS month. Fielder had 4 HRs through the end of April, 2008... he had 3 HRs through the end of April, 2009.

So, the 2 he has thus far should NOT worry you at all.

Buy low, if you can.

Fielder started slow last year, too
Fielder is a great player... he started out slowly last season, too. After hitting a ton in the first few games, he ended April 2008 with a .250 avg and only 4 HRs.

Fielder is a great player to grab now, if you can, for cheap... but savvy owners know better.

Fielder
What are your thoughts on him. I know he is off to a slow start. Have Ludwick and could maybe move him for Fielder might have to add some thing else to the deal for it. worth the move or stay with Ludwick

Prince Fielder #1 1B for 2008
The Fantasy Baseball Geeks believe that Prince Fielder will be the top fantasy 1B in 2008. The youngest player to ever hit 50 HRs will be in the ballpark of 50 again in 2008, and is one of a handful of players capable of approaching 60. In addition to the huge power potential, his batting average is not a drag to your team stats which added to the fact that his contact rate is solid for a power hitter, in our mind gives him the edge over Ryan Howard. The Geeks project a .290/110/125/48/2 season for Prince; similar numbers to 2007 with a bigger year slated for 2009. You can ignore the concerns about his body breaking down. He will be 23 on Opening Day and the players with which his body type is most often compared, his Big Daddy and Mo Vaughn, had their last productive season in their age 32 season. That is nine years away.

The next Ryan Howard?
I think he has the potential to be. The average won't be great, but decent. The guy can't run. I look for 40 home runs this season though.
