trade to cubbies makes him very attractive
He moves from the bandbox to another hitter's park. This is a great news for his fantasy value. 20 HRs, 10 SBs, 85 RBI, 85 R, .300 AVG are all reasonable possibilities.

I would say that this is a player on the verge of surge. NL-only no brainer... mixed league #4 or #5 OF, who should provide plenty of value.

Power uptick...
I pegged him as a sleeper last year, and he didn't disappoint. The average was a bit low, but worse... the Rangers have pegged Julio Borbon as their CF and they have yet to re-sign Marlon.

By all appearances, Marlon will be heading to a new club... and, for now, because he leaves the bandbox, he suddenly becomes less attractive as a sleeper.

Still, if he can land with a team and get a starting gig, he could post similar numbers to his 2008, which would be solid and cheap #5 OF stats.

BABIP went down, but avg stayed consistent
He turns 32 next year. If he remains with the Rangers and gets some consistent playing time, I think he is a solid sleeper pick to help in the AVG and R categories as a cheap, fifth OF who can also get you some cheap SBs.

He lost some 38 points on his BABIP from 2007 to 2008, and yet he only had a drop in AVG from .307 to .298. Looks like a consistent .300 hitter now who, with a little extra luck, could surprise us with a .315+ AVG. Looks like as he hit the 30 year old mark, he mastered plate discipline.

He now looks like a solid 5th OF with limited pop for the position, but who will get you balanced stats for a lot of value.
