folks had too high of expectations
in 2010... but that is GREAT for 2011 because those same folks who were clamoring after him in 2010 won't be as excited.

Stay excited. Value time!

He is a very solid pitcher who has hit his prime. Draft him for a 12 W, 3.3 ERA, 1.2 WHIP, and 180Ks, and you'll get it.

Well might be worth the gamble but Astro's getting better?? Not sure on that. Could be worse they could be the Baltimore

Message #8 by Rob Reed @ June 1, 2010, 10:08pm
figures still point at improvement
has to happen some time... he is on a number of waiver wires... if you need pitching, the gamble is worth it... .333 BABIP, 68% LOB should mean good things the rest of the way...

And the Astros have to get better... right?

Message #7 by Rob Reed @ April 13, 2010, 02:51pm
could be hurt in the wins dept
The Astros look pretty awful... Pence is slumping... but when Berkman comes back, I think they'll be ok. Wins could potentially be the problem with Wandy, but I think Wandy is a great addition to any staff...

If you need a solid starter, now is the time to buy.

Jaime is coming off of TJ surgery and a stellar first game. Very good time to sell. I don't expect great things from him... if another owner wants to gamble that his first start is a reflection of the entire season, I think your getting Wandy has MUCH MORE UPSIDE risk... and less risk, as a matter of fact. A lot less.

Dynasty League Have 5 guys on DL with 3 Dl spots in Lee, Montero, Wood, Webb, Young, not to mention Rollins
Offered Wandy for Kerry Wood and Jamie Garcia who is in the minor league roster? based on last year I would say yes but spring and first two starts are building a lot of confidence in him?
Saves and holds count the same in this league?

look at his player graph
classic bell curve happening... wandy turns 31 next month, and - clearly - he has reached the upper echelon of fantasy pitching greatness...

the ultimate question is can he keep it up?

well, i don't think he is top 10 in the league again, personally... his strand rate was higher than league average, and i think that will likely falter... so, a mid 3's ERA is not completely out of the picture...

but, as a #3-#4 starter, he should pay great dividends in '10...

Wandy
Rob,
I have Wandy in the league we're both in. His implosion tonight may cost me a top three finish.

I am trying to trade for a keeper pitcher for next year. It’s between Cain and Wandy. Who would you recommend me trying to get?
