totals at the break seems to mean tha he has finally reached the elite status that baseball writers have tried to give him for years

All I can say Rob is bring it on. I would love the chance to defend my crown.
Sounds like you gotta be crazy to be crazy high on Crawford. But hey, I would be thrilled if he could prove me wrong this year.

Ok... let me start by publically congratulating Eagle Eye for officially kicking the geeks' butt. As Gregg is no longer a podcast regular, I will -- of course -- take the high road.
I blame him for everything. (just kidding, Gregg!)
I'm thinking we'll do a Beat the Geeks league again. Are you game to defend your championship?
BTW, I agree that a change of scenery is what Crawford needs. I'm still high on him, but not "crazy" high.
"Crazy" high = what the guy in my money league just did. He is keeping Crawford for $37 in a $260 auction league.
Wow.

I won my roto league last year, which if memory serves me was the Beat the Geeks league, WITHOUT Crawford. His stock keeps falling that I gotta agree with Taklamakan and take him if Rob and other Crawford lovers don't take him in the first. But the stats speak for themselves. This guy is the ultimate 5x5 guy and if he could just get on a good team, IF Baldelli plays a full season (and i'm willing to say right now that that won't happen, but I love this guy too), and if Gomes can have a comeback season, then I'll rethink my position and possibly bump him up to round 1. A change of environment would do wonders and help him the most, though.

Re: I want to be in Rob's league |
How do ya like me now, Taklaman?
Gregg and I took Crawford in the first round of the Beat the Geeks league... (essentially against my better judgment, but part of me agreed to prove naysayers, including Gregg, wrong) AND, we lost.
If anyone is reading this who won their roto league in 2007 WITH Crawford as their number one (in standard 5x5), let me know.

I want to be in Rob's league |
If he won't take Crawford in round 1. He's a total package. I think his HRs should increase and round out a solid overall package. He hits for average, has awesome steals with few CS, and his RBI and Run opportunities should improve with Delmon Young, Rocco Baldelli, and a healthy Johnny Gomes around him in the lineup.

I'm going to reiterate what I said in the podcast...
The guy is good... VERY good. BUT, if his team can't bring him in to score, he becomes one dimensional. His runs scored number last year is what ranks him low.
With Baldelli in the lineup (who is a HUGE sleeper this year because I think he is off a lot of folks' radar), you MIGHT be right.

I think he may wind up being the best 5x5 outfielder in the game this season. He should be solid in every category.
