Comments on: NEW PLAYERtrack Feature: Rule of 27
by: Rob Reed | March 12, 2010, 12:08pm

The Rule of 27 is fantasy folklore that says that a player will reach his fantasy value peak some time around his 27th birthday.

Thanks to PLAYERtrack user Anthony Schipper's suggestion, I have incorporated the "Rule of 27" into the statistics chewer.

Under pitchers or hitters, you can click the R27 checkbox, and this will rank all players according to how close they are to their 27th year of age. If you are a believer in the "Rule of 27," this acts as an additional factor that will BUMP 27 year olds (and those close to 27, below or above) a bit more in the rankings.

Of course, if you want to include this factor in your overall rankings, you just have to customize the hitters and pitchers rankings.

Also, you should notice the new birthdate content in the rankings, as well as a "27" graphic that will allow you to spot the Rule of 27 folks more easily during your drafts.

Enjoy! Comments and suggestions are encouraged!
