I am live-blogging the Bloomberg Sports Draft right here...
by: Rob Reed | March 15, 2010, 3:54pm

You can check out the Bloomberg Experts League Blog periodically, as well.

Not sure I can keep up, but you will at least know who I am picking... and, perhaps, some surprises.

I have the 4th pick.

Wish me luck!

New CLOSER designations in the ranks
by: Rob Reed | March 15, 2010, 2:24pm

Closers within the ranks (overall and pitching) are designated with a new graphic...

You will not find such a graphic for any Twins or Blue Jays for the instant time being, because they are closer by committee until further notice (Jason Frasor gave up FOUR runs today).

Thanks to PLAYERtrack user Anthony Schipper's suggestion, I have incorporated the "Rule of 27" into the statistics chewer.

Under pitchers or hitters, you can click the R27 checkbox, and this will rank all players according to how close they are to their 27th year of age. If you are a believer in the "Rule of 27," this acts as an additional factor that will BUMP 27 year olds (and those close to 27, below or above) a bit... [read more]

Bloomberg Fantasy Baseball Challenge
by: Rob Reed | March 11, 2010, 2:43pm

Bloomberg (known for their excellent stock analysis and news) has entered the fantasy baseball business... they have some really neat fantasy baseball statistics visual tools that I am excited to try.

Last week, they put out a call for "victims" who would like to challenge six "experts" including Ron Shandler, Steve Gardner, and former Mariner (and MLB.com personality) Harold Reynolds.

I sent in my entry to join, and I was accepted. We draft on Monday night. Wish me luck!
