Introducing the "NIX" tool...

I am excited to announce that I have added a "NIX" tool that allows you to remove a player from the rankings if: (1) you don't want to include that player in your consideration; or (2) on the fly, during a live draft, you want to remove a player from consideration when that player is "off the board."
This feature was solely designed as a personal wish.
My main, personal issue with PLAYERtrack was the fact that I couldn't remove players from the rankings, on the fly, while drafting, which led to wasted time glancing through rankings that included players that were already... [read more] |

Itunes, fortunately, works very fast. The PLAYERtrack podcast is already available there. You can subscribe to the podcast there by clicking this link.

PLAYERtrack Podcast #1: First Baseman Rankings

I am pleased to present the first PLAYERtrack podcast ever... I look at the first baseman rankings here, with a minimum 150 ABs and 20 games played at the position.
I use standard 5x5 categories, and I do some extra analysis using an added category of BABIP- (lowest to highest batting average on balls in play).

TOTS Tuesday: Tale of Two Seasons #5

This week's TOT is a pitcher who has shown signs of nice fantasy value, but who has suffered from injury... he did not play all of last season with a torn labrum that required surgery.
Yet, in 2006 (189.1 innings), he had a respectable WHIP or 1.28, and he followed it up with a 1.27 WHIP in 2007 in 195.2 innings. His average ERA from 2006 to 2007 was about 3.50. He also averaged a K/9 among those two seasons of about 7.
His FIP numbers? 3.31 in 2007. 3.61 in 2006.

PLAYERtrack's MPP's for 1-12-09 to 1-19-09

The following players are the most viewed player profiles (MPP = Most Popular Players) on the PLAYERtrack site for the week starting early 1-12-09 and ending early 1-19-09.
These rankings are a general indication of players who are generating high interest among baseball fans/fantasy players as these rankings are substantially the result of search engine searches (from google, etc.) that requested information on these players.

I am working on the new draft kit rankings that will rank pitchers AND hitters together according to their point value. This is my next project and should be complete within the next week, if not sooner.
For today, I'm excited to announce some new statistical additions that have been on my "to-do" list and have finally been completed.
For pitching, I have added HR/9. So, now you can use K/9, HR/9, and K/BB to identify pitchers that meet Ron Shandler's LIMA plan.
